About the role
The Ministry of Education, State Department for Basic Education is offering 1,000 paid internships under the Digital Literacy Programme (Cohort 5). Interns will be placed in sub‑county schools for a twelve‑month, non‑renewable period, receiving a stipend and a certificate upon successful completion.
Key responsibilities
- Support e‑learning and develop digital content aligned with school schemes of work.
- Provide classroom support and train primary teachers on digital literacy devices.
- Assist implementation of the Digital Learning Programme and innovate to improve digital usage in schools.
- Ensure safe, secure and ethical use of technology in learning environments.
- Integrate ICT into teaching, learning and assessment processes.
- Maintain first‑line ICT services and support school infrastructure.
Required profile
- Graduated no earlier than 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education (ICT specialization) or ICT, or a Diploma in ICT/ICT Integration in Education.
- Knowledge of networking, infrastructure, applications development, information security and project management.
- Ability to integrate ICT with e‑learning and develop content.
- Willingness to be deployed full‑time to any sub‑county education office.
- Has not previously benefited from a similar programme.

What we offer
- Stipend of 20,000 – 25,000 KES per month (as determined by the Government).
- Certificate awarded by the State Department for Basic Education upon successful completion.
