Cargo Operations Agent

About the role

Priority Worldwide is looking for a motivated Cargo Operations Agent to join its Nairobi office. You will play a key part in ensuring smooth, compliant and cost‑effective international freight movement while supporting the company’s commitment to customer experience, technology and environmental responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Verify import/export documentation such as invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin and packing lists to determine correct tariffs and duties.
• Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely arrival and clearance, minimizing border delays.
• Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations for both imports and exports.
• Supervise loading, oversee cargo release at ports/ICDs and ensure proper chain of custody until delivery to client premises.

Required profile

• Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding or KESRA Diploma.
• At least 3 years of experience in freight forwarding, specifically declaration and field operations.
• Valid motorbike licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in customs clearance systems.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan customs laws and East African Community Customs Union regulations.
• Experience handling customs tariffs and regulated/non‑regulated items.
