Carpenter - Door Manufacturing

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Carpenter in Athi River, Kenya, focused on door manufacturing. The role covers measuring and cutting materials, assembling and fitting doors, and maintaining workshop safety.

Key responsibilities

• Measure, mark, cut and size MDF boards, plywood and timber to production specifications, using panel saws, circular saws and hand tools while minimising waste.
• Assemble doors to approved designs and technical drawings, keeping panels, frames and joints aligned, square and secure.
• Operate woodworking hand tools and power tools safely, check tools regularly and follow workshop safety procedures.
• Fit locks, handles and hinges, install and align door frames, and test doors for smooth operation.
• Inspect finished doors for accuracy and surface quality, sand and prepare them for finishing, and keep the workspace clean and safe.

Required profile

• A certificate or diploma in Carpentry, Joinery, Wood Technology or a related field is an added advantage.
• Proven hands-on experience in carpentry, woodworking, joinery or door manufacturing.
• Practical knowledge of MDF, plywood and timber used in door production.

Required skills

• Operating panel saws, circular saws, power tools and standard woodworking hand tools.
• Accurate measurement and interpretation of cutting lists, technical drawings and production specifications.
• Door assembly, frame fitting, hardware installation and surface finishing.
• Workshop safety and proper handling of woodworking machinery.
