Category Development Lead – Diaper (NPD Sales)

About the role

Kaziweza Limited is seeking an experienced Category Development Lead to drive sales growth, market penetration and product development for its diaper and baby‑care portfolio across several Kenyan territories. The role will focus on expanding distribution, increasing product visibility and supporting new product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales and revenue growth for the diaper/baby‑care product range.
• Develop and execute territory sales plans to meet and exceed monthly and annual targets.
• Manage and grow relationships with distributors, wholesalers, supermarkets, pharmacies, baby shops and other retail outlets.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand product distribution and market penetration.
• Ensure product availability, visibility, merchandising and in‑store execution across the territory.
• Negotiate commercial terms with key trade partners as required.
• Monitor competitor activities, pricing, promotions, product launches and market trends.
• Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support new product development and category growth.
• Support the launch and commercialization of new diaper/baby‑care products.
• Track distributor and retailer performance, maintain stock availability and conduct regular market visits.
• Maintain accurate sales pipeline, forecasts and territory performance reports.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience selling diapers within the last two years.
• Strong network of distributors, wholesalers, retailers and other trade partners in the assigned market.
• Currently residing in the assigned territory or willing to relocate.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and drive revenue growth.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the territory.
• Ability to provide market intelligence and support new product development initiatives.
