Cement Mason – US Navy Project

About the role

Amentum is seeking a skilled Cement Mason to support a unique United States Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The role involves a variety of construction, remodeling, and renovation tasks in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
• Repair, maintain, and alter buildings, including mixing mortar, laying bricks, and installing concrete sidewalks.
• Perform concrete finishing tasks such as smoothing, texturing, and edging using hand and power tools.
• Construct and repair steps, stairways, and tile floors, and carry out incidental carpentry work.
• Prepare and submit detailed project reports for management.
• Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of comparable masonry experience or trade‑school training in concrete repair and construction.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑task environment with changing priorities.
• Cross‑cultural sensitivity and an international perspective.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
