Channel & Store Operations Lead – Renewable Energy

About the role

We are seeking a Channel & Store Operations Lead to drive the launch and growth of retail stores for a renewable energy brand across Kenya. The role combines channel sales, retail development and project coordination, reporting directly to headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily management of the Kenya project and provide regular progress reports to headquarters.
• Lead a team of four Regional Sales Representatives to acquire customers, develop dealers, recruit installers and launch new stores.
• Manage the end‑to‑end establishment of the first retail stores, including site selection, renovations, demo units, marketing materials and operational readiness.
• Coordinate with technical, warehouse, finance and customer teams to ensure smooth product delivery, inventory management and invoicing.
• Organise installer, product and sales training sessions with the technical team.
• Prepare weekly reports on project progress, sales pipeline, store development and operational risks, recommending corrective actions when needed.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Retail Management, Electrical/Energy Engineering or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in channel sales, regional management, B2B sales, retail operations or the renewable‑energy/solar sector.
• Proven team‑management experience and strong understanding of the Kenyan market.
• Existing relationships with solar companies, electrical contractors, EPC firms, installers or distributors is a plus.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Kenya and good command of English (Kiswahili advantageous).

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong skills in Google Sheets.
• Experience using basic CRM systems.
