Chef – Full‑time in Westlands, Nairobi

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Chef to join our kitchen team in Westlands, Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high‑quality meals, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting daily kitchen operations in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily meal preparation according to menu specifications.
• Cook, plate, and present dishes while ensuring consistency in taste, portion size and presentation.
• Develop daily specials and suggest menu improvements.
• Organise kitchen activities, manage ingredient preparation and storage, and monitor stock levels.
• Minimise food waste through effective inventory and portion control.
• Maintain strict food safety, sanitation and cleanliness standards.
• Inspect ingredients and finished dishes to ensure quality and timely service.
• Collaborate with service staff and assist in training junior kitchen personnel.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Food Production, Hospitality or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Chef in a restaurant, hotel or café.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Good understanding of food hygiene, sanitation and safety regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
