Chemistry Specialist – Remote, $346 per task

About the role

We are seeking a Chemistry Specialist to work on advanced, postgraduate‑level chemistry problems on a task‑based, short‑term contract. The position is fully remote and requires a strong academic background and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.

Key responsibilities

• Solve advanced chemistry problems, including organic reaction mechanisms, chemical equilibrium, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, and electrochemistry.
• Create detailed, visual, and diagrammatic explanations using text, images, chemical equations, and annotated structures.
• Provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations on chemistry‑related tasks.
• Contribute analytical reasoning to AI model fine‑tuning projects.
• Explain concepts in simple language, supplemented with visuals or simulations as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. (or currently pursuing) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently, and able to provide a LinkedIn profile in the resume.
• Willingness to undergo a background check after onboarding.

Required skills

• Proficiency with at least three of the following tools: GROMACS, LAMMPS, Psi4, PySCF, xtb, crest, Multiwfn, Cantera, CoolProp, NWChem, PyBaMM, RDKit, Open Babel.
