Clean Transportation Project Manager – Kenya

About the role

The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) seeks an entrepreneurial professional to lead its vehicle policy portfolio in Kenya. As the first ICCT staff member based in the country, you will act as the primary representative, shaping policy and communications to improve the environmental performance of on‑road transport.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with national and local government officials, NGOs, industry partners, academics, and media.
• Develop and implement ICCT’s policy strategy for Kenya in collaboration with global program staff.
• Organise outreach events, public conferences and private meetings to promote and refine transport policies.
• Produce technical reports, policy briefs, blogs, social‑media posts and other communication materials.
• Design and execute outreach and media strategies to raise the visibility of ICCT’s work.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the transportation sector and environmental/energy issues.
• Understanding of Kenyan policy‑making processes.
• Proven experience engaging stakeholders in government, industry and NGOs.
• Independent, self‑motivated leader comfortable setting priorities without day‑to‑day supervision.
• Resourceful, creative and able to work quickly in a dynamic environment.
