Clearing and Forwarding Solutions Supervisor (SEZ)

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) in Africa and part of the MSC Group, is hiring a Warehousing Clearing and Forwarding Supervisor for its Special Economic Zone (SEZ) shipments in Nairobi. The supervisor oversees import/export clearance by air, road and sea, ensures compliance with customs regulations and coordinates with customers and internal stakeholders. The position is full-time under a fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end import/export clearance in coordination with the client and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with SEZ policies and government regulations, and liaising with customs officials, PGAs and regulatory bodies.
• File and verify shipping documents (invoice, packing list, BOE, shipping bills, etc.) and import/export declarations, keeping records for audits and coordinating with the Custom House Agent.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams on receiving, storage and dispatch, keeping dwell time low and avoiding demurrage and detention charges, and monitoring cargo tracking.
• Work with freight forwarders, transporters, shipping lines and airlines, and communicate proactively with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Supervise the IFFO and support teams, allocate tasks, monitor performance and ensure adherence to SOPs and safety standards.
• Prepare daily and weekly shipment reports and KPI dashboards, track clearance timelines and delays, and share operational insights with management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in Clearing & Forwarding, Logistics, FMCG or Supply Chain Management.
• Experience in a SEZ environment preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and SEZ procedures.
• Documentation management and shipment reporting.
