Clinical Coordinator – Front Desk (Locum)

About the role

The Clinical Coordinator (Front Desk) is the first point of contact for patients at a Penda Health Medical Centre. Working on a locum basis, you will ensure a warm, efficient, and professional experience while supporting smooth patient flow and accurate administrative processes.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome patients, register them, obtain consent and verify medical benefits.
• Handle patient inquiries, complaints and phone calls, escalating when needed.
• Coordinate with clinical and support teams to manage appointments, wait times and patient flow.
• Process billing and payments (cash, insurance, corporate partners) following established protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records, insurance submissions and front‑desk reporting.
• Manage petty cash, appointment scheduling and related administrative tasks.
• Uphold Penda Health’s culture and service standards in a busy front‑desk environment.

Required profile

• Diploma in Front Office Administration, Customer Service Management, Business Administration, Health Records or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a customer‑facing or front‑desk/reception role, preferably in healthcare.
• Fluent in English and Swahili with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented and able to multitask in a fast‑paced setting.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy and proficiency with digital systems.
• Good typing speed and accuracy.
