About the role
Equity Afia is seeking a qualified Clinical Officer to join its team in Embu. The role involves delivering high‑quality patient care, diagnosing and treating a range of medical and surgical conditions, and supporting public health initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive services.
- Manage common medical and surgical conditions in a busy health facility.
- Participate in public health programmes and community outreach.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and professional standards.
Required profile
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
- Registered with the Clinical Officers Council and hold a valid practising licence.
- Minimum one (1) year post‑internship experience in a public or private hospital.
- Experience working in a high‑volume health facility.
- Knowledge of non‑communicable disease (NCD) management.
- Certificates in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Strong clinical competence, analytical ability, and self‑initiative.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and handle pressure with resilience and compassion.
Required skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Proficient computer skills for data entry, analysis, and report generation.
