Clinical Officer

About the role

Penda Health is seeking compassionate Clinical Officers to join its network of medical centres across Nairobi, Kiambu and Kajiado Counties. You will work independently to assess, diagnose and treat patients, supported by evidence‑based protocols, technology and clinical mentors.

Key responsibilities

• Take patient histories, perform examinations and prescribe appropriate treatments.
• Order and interpret investigations, explain results and treatment plans to patients.
• Manage emergencies, refer complex cases and perform minor surgical procedures as scheduled.
• Document all observations, vitals, treatments and procedures accurately in patient charts.
• Provide health education, counseling and preventive health talks to create excellent patient experiences.
• Follow Penda’s evidence‑based protocols and participate in continuous professional development.
• Undertake additional tasks assigned by the branch manager or senior clinical officer.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of work experience after internship.
• Registered with the Clinical Officers Council and hold a valid practicing licence.
• Diploma, Higher Diploma or BSc in Clinical Medicine.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
