Clinical Officer – Pediatrics

About the role

Penda Health is seeking a Clinical Officer specialized in pediatrics to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care to neonates, infants, children and adolescents at its Nairobi medical centres. The role involves diagnosing and managing a wide range of pediatric conditions, providing emergency stabilization, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough history taking and physical examinations for pediatric patients.
• Diagnose, treat and develop individualized care plans for acute and chronic pediatric illnesses, injuries and emergencies.
• Administer appropriate treatments and coordinate stabilization efforts when needed.
• Educate and counsel parents on child health, nutrition, development and preventive care.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and refer patients to specialists or inpatient services as required.
• Stay current with pediatric clinical guidelines and best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year post‑training experience in pediatrics.
• Higher National Diploma (HND) in Pediatrics.
• Basic Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
