Collections Registry Officer – Remote

About the role

The Collections Registry Officer supports New Zealanders in resolving fines and other civil matters. Working remotely, you will provide professional, people‑centred service to help customers understand their obligations and obtain the information they need.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with customers via phone, email or chat to address queries about fines and civil penalties.
• Guide customers through payment options, dispute processes and required documentation.
• Make accurate, timely decisions in line with Ministry policies and legal frameworks.
• Maintain detailed records of interactions in the collections registry system.
• Collaborate with team members in contact centres in Auckland and Wellington when needed.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to handle sensitive situations.
• Sound judgment and decision‑making skills.
• Resilience, confidence and a positive outlook.
• Willingness to start on 6 July 2026 and work flexible hours between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm, Monday‑Friday.
