Commercial Manager - Bakery & Delicatessen

About the role

The Commercial Manager will lead the commercial performance of the bakery, pastry, delicatessen and dairy sections for Majid Al Futtaim's retail business in Kenya. You will be responsible for driving sales, improving profitability and ensuring product freshness, quality and food‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies to increase sales, market share and customer loyalty across fresh‑food departments.
• Define pricing, promotion and assortment plans based on customer insights, seasonality and market trends.
• Optimize profitability through margin management, waste reduction and cost‑control initiatives.
• Lead demand forecasting and inventory planning to balance availability, freshness and stock efficiency.
• Build and manage supplier partnerships to secure quality products, competitive pricing and innovation.
• Analyse market performance and KPIs to identify growth opportunities and support data‑driven decisions.
• Drive customer‑experience standards through product presentation, freshness and in‑store execution.
• Align operations, supply‑chain and marketing teams to ensure consistent commercial execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in a commercial role.
• Proven experience in sourcing for bakery and delicatessen.
• Strong business communication and presentation abilities.
