Commercial Manager – Bakery & Delicatessen

About the role

The Commercial Manager for Bakery & Delicatessen will lead the development and execution of category strategies that drive sales, market share and customer loyalty across fresh‑food departments. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure the right product mix, pricing and promotions are delivered to shoppers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement pricing, promotion and assortment strategies based on customer insights, seasonality and market trends.
• Manage category profitability through margin optimisation, waste reduction and cost‑control initiatives.
• Lead demand forecasting and inventory planning to balance product freshness with stock efficiency.
• Build and maintain supplier partnerships to secure quality products, competitive pricing and innovation pipelines.
• Analyse market performance and KPIs to identify growth opportunities and support data‑driven decisions.
• Drive customer‑experience initiatives related to product presentation, freshness standards and in‑store execution.
• Align operations, supply‑chain, marketing and other functions to achieve consistent commercial execution and business targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in a commercial role, preferably within retail or FMCG.
• Proven experience sourcing for bakery and delicatessen categories is mandatory.
• Strong business communication and presentation abilities.
