Communications Assistant

About the role

The Communications Assistant will support RefuSHE’s internal and external communications, creating and editing content for reports, newsletters, websites and social media. The role also involves documenting programme activities through photography and storytelling while ensuring all messaging aligns with the organisation’s branding and safeguarding standards.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and edit written content for reports, newsletters, website pages and social media channels.
• Coordinate photography and videography during programme activities, manage media assets and edit basic photos and videos for digital use.
• Prepare media briefs, press releases and visibility materials; support media visits, interviews and public events.
• Maintain branding consistency across all communications materials and support the production of posters, flyers and banners.
• Document programme activities for donor reporting, compile communications reports and keep digital archives organised.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Development Studies or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in communications, media, journalism or digital content creation, preferably with NGOs or development organisations.
• Experience working with refugee or vulnerable communities is an advantage.
