Communications & Media Associate – SPARK Internship

About the role

Join East Africa Market Development Associates as a Communications and Media Associate on the SPARK Internship programme. You will support the creation and dissemination of compelling content across multiple channels, helping to showcase the impact of EAMDA’s projects in agriculture and development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high‑quality content for social media, website, newsletters, reports, blogs and promotional materials.
• Draft success stories, case studies, beneficiary profiles and impact narratives.
• Document project milestones, field activities and stakeholder engagements.
• Produce multimedia assets such as videos, photos, infographics, podcasts and short‑form digital content.
• Implement the digital communications and social media strategy, scheduling posts on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and emerging platforms.
• Monitor audience engagement, support community management and prepare performance analytics.
• Apply brand guidelines to presentations, brochures, factsheets, banners and other collateral.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Digital Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Development Communication or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in communications, media, branding or digital marketing.
• Experience creating content for social media platforms.
• Basic photography and videography skills.
• Interest in agriculture, agribusiness, entrepreneurship or international development is a plus.
