Communications & Reporting Consultant for Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW)

About the role
UN Women is seeking a Communications and Reporting Consultant to lead strategic communication and advocacy activities for its Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) and ACT programmes in East and Southern Africa. The consultant will work from Nairobi, supporting the EVAW team and regional partners to raise the visibility of key milestones such as the AU Convention ratification and the 16 Days of Activism.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and monitor strategic communication plans aligned with UN Women’s global priorities and regional goals.
- Produce monthly communication packages, dashboards and analytics reports that showcase programme results and stakeholder engagement.
- Design and launch high‑impact campaigns (AU Convention ratification, 16 Days of Activism, ACT programme visibility) including content calendars, creative briefs and toolkits.
- Create social‑media assets (posts, infographics, GIFs) for Twitter/X, LinkedIn and Facebook and manage a regional communication asset library.
- Provide technical assistance and coaching to ACT partners, grantees and media contacts, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
Required profile
- Proven experience in strategic communications and advocacy within gender‑based violence or humanitarian contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to produce multimedia content (videos, podcasts, infographics) for diverse audiences.
- Strong coordination skills to work with regional partners, media houses and UN Women’s communications teams.
