About the role
Equity Afia is recruiting a Community Oral Health Officer (COHO) to deliver preventive, promotive and basic curative oral health services, especially in community and rural settings, while observing acceptable standards of operation.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in Community Oral Health from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration and license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- At least two years of post-internship experience.
- Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Experience in community outreach, school dental health programs or mobile dental clinics is an added advantage.
Required skills
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of dental hygiene, oral health and infection prevention and control.
- Ability to perform basic dental procedures such as examinations, extractions, prophylaxis and fluoride application.
- Proficiency in computer skills, especially Health Management Information Systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with rural or underserved populations.
