Community Oral Health Officer – Dental Care

About the role

Penda Health is expanding its dental team and seeks motivated Community Oral Health Officers to deliver essential oral health services in Nairobi’s underserved communities. You will work in well‑equipped clinics, collaborating with dentists and other health professionals to improve access to quality dental care.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, diagnose common oral conditions, and deliver preventive and curative treatments.
• Educate patients on effective oral hygiene practices.
• Collaborate with dentists and the broader care team to integrate oral health into overall patient care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and uphold clinical standards.
• Manage clinic supplies and equipment to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives to reach individuals with limited dental access.
• Stay updated on advances in dental practice and contribute to quality improvement.

Required profile

• Diploma in Community Oral Health or BSc in Oral Health from a recognised institution.
• Registered with a valid practising licence from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
• Minimum 2 years post‑internship experience in a clinical dental setting.
• Clear communication skills and ability to put patients at ease.
• Organised, able to work under pressure and manage time effectively.

Required skills

• Valid KMPDC practising licence.
• Clinical experience in dental examination and treatment.
• Effective patient communication.
