Community Outreach Officer

About the role

CIC Microinsurance is looking for Community Outreach Officers to drive growth by generating new business, engaging communities and institutions, and promoting micro‑insurance products across several regions in Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and recruit new clients and intermediaries such as cooperatives, MFIs, registered groups and bancassurance partners, while reactivating dormant accounts.
• Conduct community sensitisation, product presentations and trainings to raise awareness and increase product uptake.
• Prepare proposals and quotations, follow up leads, track sales pipelines and coordinate with underwriting and customer service for smooth onboarding.
• Gather market intelligence on trends, customer needs and competitor activities to support product improvement.
• Consistently achieve individual and team sales targets while upholding brand values and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in a business‑related field; Bachelor’s degree desirable.
• Professional insurance qualifications (COP/ECOP/Diploma in Insurance – AIIK/CII/LOMA) are an advantage.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven experience in community engagement, sales or field mobilisation is a plus.
• Age 25 years or older.
