Compliance Analyst – Airtel Money

About the role

The Compliance Analyst will support Airtel Money’s Risk and Compliance framework in Nairobi, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and mitigating revenue loss. Reporting to the Risk and Compliance Manager, the role involves risk assessment, monitoring, and reporting across the mobile money platform.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of internal policies and the overall Risk and Compliance framework.
• Identify and assess risks linked to current and future Airtel Money products, services and partnerships.
• Prepare regulatory compliance reports for the Board and senior management.
• Conduct due‑diligence and enhanced due‑diligence reviews for customers, agents, partners and merchants, including ongoing monitoring of high‑risk clients.
• Investigate flagged high‑risk accounts and draft Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for the MLRO.
• Perform transaction monitoring, refine automated alert thresholds and support internal and external audits.
• Design and execute SQL queries to extract and analyse transactional data for risk reviews and regulatory reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Economics, Risk, Law or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in a Fintech or financial services environment.
• AML/CFT qualification is an advantage.
• Strong proficiency in written and spoken English.
