Concierge Specialist – Guest Services

About the role

The purpose of this role is to ensure a seamless concierge service for guests once they arrive in Africa and throughout their entire safari visit.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a dedicated concierge service for Great Plains guests from 08:00 – 17:00 via WhatsApp.
• Create a WhatsApp group linking the primary traveler, the travel agent and the GPC After‑Hours service to welcome and check in on guests.
• Welcome guests prior to arrival and remind them to raise any questions or issues during their travels.
• Check in with guests each time they move to a different property, reminding them of transfer or flight times where applicable.
• Handle queries and concerns together with the After‑Hours team.
• Develop relationships with camp staff and regional managers for quick assistance.
• Build personal relationships with agents to ensure top‑quality concierge service.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Travel and Tourism or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of experience in the travel industry.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional and courteous interaction with agents and guests, including telephone and WhatsApp communication.
• Above‑average computer literacy and ability to work under pressure.
• Flexibility to work independent or as part of a team with adaptable hours.
