Consultancy for In-Person Training & Technical Environmental Monitoring

About the role

Finn Church Aid is seeking a consultant to deliver in‑person training and conduct technical environmental monitoring for the Women Empowerment in Kenya through Controlled Environment Agriculture (WEKCEA) project. The assignment supports women agri‑preneur groups, Village‑Based Champions and County Agriculture Officers in three ASAL counties.

Key responsibilities

• Design, adapt and deliver training modules on climate‑smart agriculture, greenhouse farming, shade nets and hydroponics.
• Monitor and document key environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, water usage) across controlled environment agriculture systems.
• Collect, analyse and report data to generate context‑specific technical insights for project adaptation.
• Provide hands‑on technical support to Village‑Based Champions and County Agriculture Officers to ensure effective technology adoption.
• Facilitate peer‑to‑peer learning and knowledge transfer within women groups.

Required profile

• Proven experience in agricultural extension, climate‑smart or controlled environment agriculture.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver adult training in rural settings.
• Familiarity with ASAL conditions in Kenya and gender‑focused development work.
