About the role
Spotify’s Marketing team is looking for a Consumer Marketing Manager to lead consumer‑focused campaigns across East Africa and selected Sub‑Saharan markets. The role sits within the Markets & Subscriber Growth organization and works closely with global, regional and cross‑functional partners to shape Spotify’s presence for listeners every day.
Key responsibilities
- Lead consumer marketing campaigns across East Africa and support culturally relevant initiatives in other Sub‑Saharan markets.
- Partner with marketing, music, partnerships, media, analytics and creative teams to deliver campaigns from strategy through execution.
- Use on‑platform and off‑platform insights to identify audience behaviours, market opportunities and growth drivers.
- Develop clear creative and media briefs with internal stakeholders and external agency partners.
- Drive acquisition, engagement and retention for both Free and Premium audiences.
- Identify and activate local partnerships, creators, agencies and cultural touchpoints to strengthen brand awareness.
- Analyze campaign performance and translate learnings into actionable recommendations.
- Adapt global marketing initiatives to resonate locally across diverse consumer audiences.
- Support local music and cultural marketing moments in collaboration with internal and regional teams.
Required profile
- Minimum 4 + years of experience in consumer marketing, brand marketing or campaign management within East Africa.
- Experience working across multiple Sub‑Saharan African markets or regional campaigns.
- Background in brand strategy, consumer insights, digital marketing, media or project management.
- Proven track record delivering impactful campaigns in digital, FMCG, retail, entertainment or technology environments.
- Ability to translate consumer and cultural insights into effective marketing strategies.
- Comfortable working with data and performance metrics to evaluate and optimise marketing effectiveness.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality execution.
- Collaborative mindset, able to work with teams, agencies and stakeholders with differing perspectives.
- Proactive, solutions‑oriented and comfortable in fast‑moving environments.
- Passion for culture, storytelling and creating authentic experiences for local audiences.
