Control and Automation Specialist

About the role

The Control and Automation Specialist will provide expert technical support for our beverage production lines in Nairobi. You will work closely with shift teams to ensure smooth operation, rapid fault resolution, and continuous improvement of automation assets.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site and on‑call operational support, guiding operators through machine start‑up, fault finding and corrective actions.
• Contribute to maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution, ensuring alignment with regional asset care strategies.
• Perform routine maintenance and running repairs, coordinating with external specialists when needed.
• Apply systematic problem‑solving methods, escalating complex issues and supporting situational troubleshooting.
• Enforce safety standards, conduct risk assessments, and apply 5S principles during all activities.
• Support new product development trials, document engineering changes, and ensure asset readiness.
• Train and coach production assistants and operators on autonomous maintenance and asset care.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Control & Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in controls, instrumentation, and automation within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in FMCG or beverage production is an advantage.
