Cook – Full‑time in Nairobi

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Cook to join our kitchen team in Westlands, Nairobi. This full‑time position involves preparing a variety of meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks while maintaining high standards of taste, presentation and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients – wash, cut, chop, marinate and measure according to recipes.
• Cook meals following standard recipes and cooking methods.
• Plate food attractively, ensure correct portion sizes and support timely service.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen; clean work surfaces, utensils and equipment before and after use.
• Store food safely, monitor temperatures, check expiry dates and apply FIFO stock rotation.
• Operate ovens, stoves, mixers, fryers and other kitchen equipment safely; report any faults.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff, follow instructions from the Head Cook or Supervisor, and assist during peak periods.
• Work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks and adhere to health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• Certificate in Food Production or a related field.
• At least one month of proven experience as a Cook or in a similar kitchen role.
• Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients and kitchen procedures.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and sanitation practices.
