Copywriting Lead (Email & SMS)

About the role

Winback, an AI-native retention studio, is looking for a Copywriting Lead to own and scale copy across its ecommerce and consumer brand portfolio. You will craft high‑converting email, SMS and push messages while building the processes that keep quality consistent as volume grows.

Key responsibilities

• Write high‑converting email, SMS and push copy for a variety of lifecycle stages such as welcome, abandonment, post‑purchase and win‑back.
• Develop SOPs, frameworks and quality standards to ensure copy consistency at scale.
• Leverage AI as a thinking partner while maintaining a human‑led, brand‑specific voice.
• Analyze performance data to continuously improve messaging.
• Grow into a leadership role by hiring, onboarding and mentoring other writers.

Required profile

• 5+ years of copywriting experience, preferably in email, SMS and lifecycle for ecommerce or consumer brands.
• Strategic mindset focused on why messages work, not just how they sound.
• Ability to adapt voice across very different brands, sometimes within the same day.
• Comfortable working Eastern Time hours with at least six hours of overlap.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Klaviyo or another ESP (nice to have).
• Experience collaborating with designers in Figma (nice to have).
• Strong command of professional English, both written and spoken.
