Country Director – Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda

About the role

TechnoServe is seeking a dynamic Country Director to lead its operations across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Based in Nairobi, you will shape strategic direction, drive program impact, and represent the organization to key stakeholders in East Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a business development strategy aligned with global and regional goals.
• Maintain and expand relationships with bilateral, multilateral donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Oversee a portfolio of eight multi‑year programs with an annual budget exceeding $6 million.
• Lead a team of approximately 94 staff, ensuring operational excellence and high‑quality program delivery.
• Identify and cultivate new program opportunities to grow the Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda platforms.
• Serve as the public face of TechnoServe in the three countries, advocating the mission and building partnerships.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in international development or related sectors.
• Strong track record in managing large budgets and multi‑country teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Deep understanding of value‑chain development, agriculture, blue economy, food security, and entrepreneurship.
