County Consultant for AASHA Program (Kwale, Narok, Migori)

About the role

The consultant will serve as Girl Effect’s principal community‑engagement and county‑implementation focal point for the AASHA programme, translating plans into safe, timely and well‑documented delivery while strengthening coordination with government, partners and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main local liaison, coordinating with county health teams, partners and community resource persons to implement AASHA activities.
• Support planning and execution of trainings, community sessions, events, monitoring visits and surveys.
• Facilitate training workshops on facilitation, mobilisation, safeguarding, digital tools and health messaging.
• Engage with county/sub‑county offices, participate in technical working groups and support SRH campaign roll‑outs.
• Document attendance, feedback and referrals; organise performance review meetings and submit timely reports.
• Provide data collection support to the Evidence & Insights team, ensuring consent processes and data quality.
• Offer flexible surge support for extra training, launch events or urgent dialogues as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in communications, public relations or related field.
• Experience coordinating community‑based projects on SRH, GBV, child marriage prevention or similar issues.
• Strong background in community mobilisation, facilitation and stakeholder relationship management.
• Demonstrated experience working with county government structures.
• Knowledge of participatory training methods and capacity‑building workshops.
• Skilled in documentation, basic reporting and feedback collection.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and fluency in English and Swahili.
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field and 3+ years of experience.
