Cyber Security Infrastructure Analyst

About the role

The Central Bank of Kenya is seeking a Cyber Security Infrastructure Analyst to join its Cyber Security Operations Team. You will help protect the bank’s digital assets by configuring, managing and upgrading a range of security technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, manage and upgrade firewalls, IDS, IPS, NAC, encryption devices and other security appliances.
• Assist in implementing information security policies, standards and procedures, ensuring compliance with ISO27001, PCI and other best‑practice frameworks.
• Troubleshoot and remediate Level 1/2 security incidents and support content filters, antivirus, logging solutions, and network/host IDS/IPS.
• Coordinate patch and vulnerability management programs and support system custodians in applying security controls.
• Document changes, operations and troubleshooting steps for security platforms and contribute to continuous improvement of the cyber security program.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in IT user support, Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems, networking and security technologies.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP‑Security, CEH, CISA or CISM are preferred.

Required skills

• Firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, encryption, content filtering and antivirus solutions.
• Network protocols and tools: TCP/IP, Syslog, DNS, NetFlow.
• Operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Linux/Unix.
• Scripting/programming: shell, Python, HTML, JavaScript, PHP.
• Routing, switching and networking concepts; certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, CCIE.
