Data Specialist – Programme Monitoring & Improvement

About the role

GAIN is seeking a Data Specialist to provide technical expertise in data management, analytics and digital systems to strengthen the quality, accessibility and use of programme data across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and guide the development of monitoring system improvements using Salesforce, SurveyCTO and Tableau.
• Curate and maintain GAIN’s standard indicators, output and outcome picklist.
• Develop dashboards for PMI and project teams to facilitate performance monitoring and decision‑making.
• Support the development and ongoing management of GAIN’s Results database for project data.
• Oversee, review and interpret monitoring data for performance and donor reports, ensuring alignment with the theory of change and results framework.
• Ensure analysis and reporting (reports, briefs, other materials) meet GAIN standards.
• Deliver in‑house training on programme monitoring in partnership with the Program Management Advisor.
• Contribute to capacity‑development approaches for programme monitoring, including partner organisations.

Required profile

• Experience in data management, data analytics, information systems or business intelligence.
• Demonstrated use of data and digital systems to support programme performance and decision‑making.
• Practical experience managing, validating, cleaning and analysing complex datasets.
• Ability to translate programme data into actionable insights for monitoring and improvement.
