Database Support Assistant

About the role

Under the supervision of the MEL Database Manager, the Database Support Assistant will ensure the integrity, accuracy and completeness of IRS campaign data, supporting daily database operations and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Run daily duplicate reports in DHIS2, analyse outputs and coordinate with field teams to resolve issues.
• Enter and clean data from paper forms, update missing fields (including GPS coordinates) and perform outlier checks.
• Maintain daily tracking of data submissions per spray operator and generate required reports for MEL staff.
• Escalate data inconsistencies to the MEL Assistant and assist with synchronization between field teams and central databases.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience (at least 1 year in IRS preferred) with a Bachelor’s degree in a numeric discipline or a Diploma plus experience.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, able to work independently under pressure.
• Willingness to work six days a week (Monday–Saturday) on a short‑term contract.

Required skills

• Proven experience in data entry, cleaning and database management.
• Hands‑on experience with DHIS2 (certification preferred).
• Familiarity with mobile data collection platforms such as ODK or Kobo Collect.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and standard database tools.
