Debt Recovery Officer

About the role

The Debt Recovery Officer works closely with the Debt Recovery Manager to monitor and improve the performance of an assigned portfolio across all business segments of the bank. The role focuses on reducing non‑performing assets (NPAs), recovering loan securities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Portfolio at Risk (PAR) within institutional targets.
• Achieve timely recoveries of NPAs and prompt realization of loan securities.
• Process insurance claims efficiently and manage external service providers.
• Ensure recoveries meet write‑off targets and adhere to bank policies.
• Collect, analyse, and input relevant data into spreadsheets and databases.
• Prepare routine correspondence, reports, and documentation for senior staff.
• Support internal client relationships and coordinate with support services.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Good understanding of banking regulations and credit policies.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to operational compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using document management and database systems.
• Data entry and spreadsheet analysis capabilities.
