About the role
We are seeking a motivated Dental Assistant to support our dentists in restorative dentistry and oral surgery at M.P. Shah Hospital in Nairobi. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in a hospital setting.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the dentist chair‑side with treatment administration, including material preparation and placement.
- Maintain strict infection control standards to ensure a sterile working environment.
- Document patient records, lab procedures and treatment outcomes accurately.
- Provide postoperative instructions and oral health education to patients.
- Support emergency management by keeping CPR certification current and emergency supplies stocked.
Required profile
- Diploma in Community Oral Health.
- 0–2 years’ experience in a dental clinic or hospital dental department.
- Continuous Professional Development (CPD) participation.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail.
Required skills
- CPR certification.
- Infection control procedures.
