Principal Statistical Programmer

About the role

As a Principal Statistical Programmer at ICON, you will lead the development and validation of statistical programs in R, supporting the analysis of clinical trial data and ensuring regulatory‑compliant outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate R programs for statistical analysis, reporting, and generation of CDISC‑compliant SDTM and ADaM datasets.
• Lead multiple statistical programming teams to produce listings, tables, figures and ensure quality control of outputs.
• Collaborate with biostatisticians to define analysis plans and statistical methods.
• Support preparation of statistical reports, presentations and regulatory submissions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Life Sciences or related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of statistical programming experience in clinical research, biotech or pharmaceutical environments.
• Strong knowledge of CDISC standards (SDTM, ADaM) and regulatory requirements.
