Designer - Metal Fabrication

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a Designer for a full-time position in Athi River. The role covers product and metalwork design, including gates, doors, windows, railings, staircases, steel structures, frames, partitions and other fabricated metal products, and supports fabrication and installation.

Key responsibilities

• Design metal products based on customer requirements, site conditions and project specifications, and review existing designs for improvement.
• Develop detailed 2D and 3D designs, including dimensions, layouts, elevations and sections, and update them with client and site feedback.
• Prepare technical, fabrication, assembly and installation drawings, cutting lists and material schedules.
• Support welders, fabricators and workshop teams, resolve design issues and give technical guidance during installation.
• Take site measurements, verify site dimensions and check completed designs against specifications and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Architecture or a related field.
• Proven experience in metal fabrication, steelwork, welding or a related production environment.
• Experience designing fabricated metal products and preparing technical drawings.
• Experience working with welders and fabricators in a workshop is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in relevant 2D/3D design and CAD software.
• Ability to read and produce fabrication drawings and cutting lists.
