Digital Core Consultant – Backup & File

About the role

As a Digital Core Consultant focusing on Backup & File, you will lead and support IT and business projects that revolve around file services and backup technologies. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and customers to ensure reliable and efficient data protection solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Consult, lead, and participate in IT/Business projects, RfPs, and PoCs related to file services and backup technologies.
• Install, operate, and monitor file and backup servers, including hardware, OS, and software components.
• Manage space and capacity, develop concept documents, and optimise operational processes.
• Research market developments in file services and backup, proposing continuous service improvements.
• Build test environments, conduct functional and performance tests for Windows Server standards, both on‑premise and in‑cloud.
• Support problem management with root‑cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
• Coordinate vendors and contractors, perform quality and compliance checks (e.g., Tenable scans, patch and antivirus management).
• Automate routine tasks, analyse server performance, and drive availability and efficiency improvements.
• Participate in rotating 2nd/3rd level on‑call duty and incident/problem management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a comparable field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with file services and backup technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure solutions.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.
