Digital Literacy Internship – State Department for Basic Education

About the role

The Ministry of Education, State Department for Basic Education, is offering 1,000 internship positions under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5. Interns will be deployed to sub‑county schools to support virtual learning, develop e‑learning content, and maintain ICT services.

Key responsibilities

• Support e‑learning and content development aligned with school schemes of work.
• Provide class support and training to primary teachers on digital literacy devices.
• Assist in implementing the Digital Learning Programme and innovate to improve digital usage in schools.
• Ensure safe, secure, and ethical use of technology in learning environments.
• Offer first‑line ICT support and maintenance for school devices.

Required profile

• Graduated no earlier than 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education (ICT specialization) or ICT, or a Diploma in ICT/ICT Integration in Education.
• Willingness to be deployed full‑time to any sub‑county education office.
• Must not have previously benefited from a similar programme.

Required skills

• Knowledge of networking and infrastructure.
• Experience in applications development.
• Understanding of information security and project management.
• Ability to integrate ICT with education for e‑learning and content creation.
