Direct Sales Representative (Kericho)

About the role

SBM Bank is seeking a Direct Sales Representative to drive retail banking growth in the Kericho area while being based in Nairobi’s Westlands district. The role focuses on acquiring new customers, cross‑selling consumer banking products, and ensuring a smooth account opening experience.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prospect retail opportunities, visit potential customers, and onboard them to the bank’s consumer banking portfolio (≈60% of time).
• Generate and follow up quality leads, participate in product campaigns, and achieve weekly, monthly and quarterly sales targets.
• Ensure compliance with documentation and account opening procedures, coordinating with the Account Management Unit.
• Maintain relationships with key contacts in partner companies, conduct regular visits, and support service open days and activations (≈30%).
• Provide excellent customer service, resolve complaints within defined TAT, and minimize client attrition (≈10%).

Required profile

• Entry‑level or junior candidate with up to 3 years of sales experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of consumer banking products and ability to meet sales targets.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Attention to compliance and documentation standards.
