Director of Operational Excellence (Remote)

About the role

Trilogy is seeking a Director of Operational Excellence to lead M&A diligence, integration, and P&L ownership for its portfolio of underperforming enterprise software businesses. This remote, high‑impact position works independently across multiple companies, delivering financial and operational outcomes directly to CEOs, CFOs, and functional leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end M&A due diligence, structure virtual data rooms, and manage vendor consolidation and closing checklists.
• Own quarterly P&L budgets for multi‑product business units, identify margin improvement opportunities, and present cost‑reduction strategies to senior finance teams.
• Utilize AI platforms such as Claude Code and Cursor to automate decision workflows, build cost models, and generate executive‑ready analysis.
• Oversee the full vendor lifecycle for over 70 contracts, handling negotiation, legal coordination, procurement, invoicing, and termination.
• Serve as the sole integration point for portfolio operations, coordinating with Finance, Legal, Engineering, SaaS, HR, and IT functions as well as external deal partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in M&A diligence, integration, and operational turnarounds within enterprise software or related sectors.
• Strong financial acumen with a track record of managing P&L, budgeting, and cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Ability to work autonomously, build conviction, and drive stakeholders to action without formal authority.
• Comfort operating in a fast‑paced, variable environment with weekly acquisition targets.
