Director, Program and Sponsorship

About the role

The Director, Program and Sponsorship leads the strategic design, implementation and quality assurance of ChildFund Kenya’s programmes and sponsorship initiatives. Reporting to the Country Director, this senior position shapes evidence‑based interventions that improve the lives of children, families and communities while ensuring responsible stewardship of donor resources.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for programme design, monitoring, evaluation, learning and innovation.
• Oversee sponsorship performance, resource mobilisation and partnership development.
• Ensure high‑quality delivery, impact measurement and compliance with donor and organisational standards.
• Serve on the Senior Management Team as the principal advisor on programme strategy, business development and technical excellence.
• Manage budgets, donor reporting and stewardship of financial resources.
• Foster sustainable partnerships with government, NGOs, private sector and community stakeholders.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate qualification or technical specialization in Livelihoods, Humanitarian, Health, Child Protection, Education or International Development.
• Minimum 12 years of programme management experience within INGOs or development organisations.
• At least 5 years of senior leadership and management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi‑sectoral programmes and secure funding.
