Distributor Sales Representative - LPG

About the role

A client in the oil and gas industry, recruited through Stratostaff East Africa, is looking for Distributor Sales Representatives based in Nairobi. The role promotes and drives growth in LPG sales within an assigned territory by using the client's network of distributors, resellers and selected retail service stations.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with the distributor team to meet LPG sales volume targets in the assigned territory.
• Sell and market the client's LPG products and plan sales activities to strengthen the client's market position.
• Monitor and drive LPG refill sales from distributors to the market, and increase LPG cylinder sales through distributors in the region.
• Ensure retail recommended prices are kept between distributors and end consumers, and that route coverage by distributor sales personnel is complete and accurate.
• Identify new LPG sales opportunities, including horizontal growth (more base business) and vertical growth (more outlets on assigned routes).
• Lead and manage segmented promotions, execute sell-out promotions and ensure market penetration.
• Drive distributor sales by onboarding new customers, manage sales channels and introduce innovative ways to increase sales.
• Gather and share market intelligence to inform strategic adjustments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in the industry.
• Experience in sales distribution and market penetration strategies.
• Ability to reconcile customer accounts.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, able to work with staff and customers.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, willing to travel occasionally and open to learning new skills.
