Driver - Dadaab

About the role

Inkomoko, which supports entrepreneurs in East and Central Africa, is hiring a Driver for its Operations & Security department, reporting to the Security Focal Point. The position is based in Dadaab, Kenya, and supports the team's day-to-day operations and staff movement.

Key responsibilities

• Drive authorized Inkomoko staff to and from destinations in and around the operating camps and other assigned locations.
• Run office errands as required.
• Safely drive the assigned office vehicle in line with rules and regulations and comply with the fleet management policy.
• Carry out basic maintenance checks, perform preventative and regular maintenance, and keep vehicles clean and detailed.
• Keep the vehicle equipped with a spare tire, tool kit, jacks, wheel spanner, tow rope, jump leads, belts, fire extinguisher and first aid kits.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance and fuel consumption records, schedule major services and report issues.
• Perform other duties assigned by the line supervisor.

Required profile

• Valid Kenyan driver's licence and a clean driving record with no accidents in the last five years.
• 5 years of experience as a driver and basic mechanic training.
• Training in defensive driving and driving for passenger security.
• Good knowledge of Dadaab and Garissa County.
• Willingness to live in Dadaab and flexible working hours.
• Exclusive to Inkomoko during employment.

Required skills

• Swahili and English communication.
• Basic writing and reading skills.
• Use of a smartphone, radio, email and telephone.
