HSST Coordinator (Transport, OSH, Security)

About the role

One Acre Fund is looking for a strategic leader to head its Transport, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Security operations in Kakamega, Kenya. The role manages a team, drives efficiency and compliance and optimizes budgets to keep the environment safe and cost-effective for staff and partners. It is a Level 5 position reporting to the General Manager, and you will manage one Transport and Dispatch Senior Supervisor (JL4) and three Senior Transport Officers (JL2).

Key responsibilities

• Transport: run daily operations, audit management systems, manage assets and projects, resolve driver and vehicle issues, enforce policies and maintenance schedules.
• OSH: coordinate annual audits and training, organize reports and certificates, support OSH compliance across regions and follow up on audit recommendations.
• Security: act as the main contact for the Vendor Security Manager, validate daily/weekly reports, follow up on maintenance SLAs, track incidents and access control enforcement.
• Budget: track expenditure, analyse costs, support monthly budget variance reports, monitor budget levels to aim for 10% annual savings and check vendor invoices against purchase orders.
• Team: recruit, train and mentor staff, track performance metrics, identify future leaders and foster an inclusive workplace.

Required profile

• 0-2 years of experience.
• Open only to Kenyan citizens or permanent residents; international candidates are sponsored.
• Ability to conduct hazard identification and risk assessment, and knowledge of fire suppression and evacuation protocols.

Required skills

• Google Suite (Sheets, Docs)
• Software for tracking transport operations, raising purchase requisitions and managing vendor payments
• Fleet management, logistics and route efficiency principles
• Kenyan OSHA and transport industry safety regulations
• Understanding of SLAs and how to hold private security firms accountable to Guard Force Instructions
