Driver - Lamu

About the role

Q-Sourcing, a manpower management solutions firm operating across East Africa, is recruiting a competent, skilled and experienced driver for its client, based in Lamu, Kenya. The driver provides reliable and safe driving services, keeps the vehicle well maintained and roadworthy, and operates in line with traffic laws and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Safely transport staff, visitors, documents and goods to designated locations on time.
• Keep the assigned vehicle clean and properly functioning, and carry out routine checks (oil, water, tyre pressure, lights).
• Ensure insurance, inspection and logbook documents are valid and up to date, and keep mileage and fuel records.
• Report mechanical problems or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Comply with road safety rules and traffic regulations.
• Assist with basic administrative tasks such as messenger services and office errands when not driving.
• Handle company property and information confidentially and act punctually and professionally.

Required profile

• KCSE C+ or a college certificate.
• At least 3-5 years of proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in a corporate or NGO setting.
• Valid Class BCE driving licence (or as applicable) and an up-to-date certificate of good conduct.
• First aid, defensive driving or basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Integrity, professionalism and discretion; ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.
