East Africa Cluster Lead – Senior Project Manager

About the role

This senior position leads real‑estate project delivery for a multinational banking client across Kenya and the wider East Africa region. Based in Nairobi, you will act as the on‑ground anchor, overseeing complex commercial office and retail banking projects while managing a small delivery team.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end project management (programme, budget, quality, scope, procurement, risk) from planning through construction to close‑out.
• Develop client briefs and Project Execution Plans, and steer design teams to deliver solutions within budget.
• Coordinate with local government and regulatory bodies to secure approvals.
• Administer contracts, manage tender processes, negotiate terms, and monitor contractor performance against schedules and specifications.
• Control schedules, budgets, change orders and ensure compliance with sustainability and environmental standards.
• Lead and develop a small East Africa delivery team, including direct line‑management of one Project Manager and oversight of third‑party resources.
• Serve as primary point of contact for the client and regional stakeholders, managing expectations and relationships.

Required profile

• Proven senior project management experience in real‑estate or construction environments, preferably within the banking or commercial sector.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder networks across East Africa.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills with a focus on delivering projects on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Willingness to travel within Kenya and the wider region as project needs arise.
