Electrician – US Navy Program (Diego Garcia)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Electrician to support a critical US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial, industrial and facility electrical systems while ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, troubleshoot and replace electrical systems, wiring, equipment and components per contract requirements.
• Inspect, test and diagnose faults in electrical distribution systems, circuits and equipment to restore service.
• Identify and remediate life, health and safety hazards associated with electrical installations.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize reliability and operational readiness.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, testing and repairs.
• Ensure tools, testing equipment and work areas are kept safe, clean and organized.
• Provide technical guidance to assigned personnel and respond to electrical emergencies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years experience as an Electrician Helper or in a related electrical maintenance role.
• Basic knowledge of electrical distribution systems, wiring methods and safety principles.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English (preferred).
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
